PROBLEMS OPENING IMAGES/NOT ABLE TO PRINT

My file is black/there is no image - our images are either .PNG or .JPG files...

A .jpg file will have a white background BUT a .PNG is CLEAR, transparent. This means if you are trying to open an image which is completely black with no background, specifically SENTIMENTS/QUOTES - if you are using the Windows 10 Image editor or certain graphics programs it may appear the image is blank!

This is not the case! You are seeing a black image on a black background and if you print you will see the image is ok, it is simply the way you're viewing the file. Open the image in a different program.

note:

Microsoft have removed and changed the old Windows Photo Viewer which is very unhelpful! The new Photo Editor is a great program but you can only open one image at a time and the app background is also black, which can be very frustrating.  There is nothing you can do about this, it's just how it is, BUT....

You can reinstall the old Windows Photo Viewer if you wish - just follow these instructions....

Please note there are 2 ways to do this so make sure you choose the right one for your system:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our CD's are setup in the simplest way possible for you to use - we do not include any technical gadgetry in our program, so if you have any issues at all with printing this is caused by your own printer setup.  When you click on one of our images from the program it opens within YOUR OWN PRINTER SETTING.

If you have issues printing it is 100% your own printer or PC that is causing the issue. The only issues we ever hear of is this one, which is very easy for you to fix yourself by following these instructions:

ERROR CODE 1004

AND/OR

WHEN YOU CLICK THE IMAGE TO PRINT IT OPENS IN MS WORD, ADOBE OR ANOTHER PROGRAM AND WONT PRINT, OR YOU GET A DIALOG BOX WHICH SAYS SOME ERROR MESSAGE:

This issue is caused by a Windows Update changing some of the default settings on your PC - basically it's telling MS Word to open and print your images instead of your normal printer. It's easy to fix.

Please follow the instructions here from Microsoft (wording may change slightly depending on which version of Windows you are using):

Open Default Programs by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Default Programs.

Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program - it may be worded differently but you are looking for 'Associate a File Type'.

When the box comes up with the list of filenames -

- in the left side of the window search for .PNG, .JPEG and .JPG one at a time, in the file listing

(if you just click .J the cursor should take you there) and click once on the JPEG option

(do this for all 3 file extensions PNG, .JPEG and .JPG)

In the top right corner click on CHANGE PROGRAM

Now select the program you wish to use to open the files – usually Microsoft Picture Viewer - SAVE, and that's it, fixed!

If you don't see Microsoft Picture Viewer choose a program which is nearest to that in name.

Alternatively you can choose for other software to open ALL your .PNG/.JPG files ie Picasa - please note that once you set this your PC will open ALL these file types the same way, although you can always reset this again if you wish.

Now each time you select a PNG file it will always open with this program. You may wish to also do this for JPG and JPEG files as the updates will usually change all 3 of these file types which are the most common you will use.
